Volta Pods to Address the Challenges of Scaling Modular Construction at Construction Technology ConFex 2026

Volta Pods, a division of ECC Group specialising in prefabricated and modular pod manufacturing, will participate in the 9th Construction Technology ConFex, hosted by Ventures Connect on 9–10 September at Conrad Hotel, Dubai.

Representing Volta Pods, Mohammed Azzam, Division Head – Volta Pods, will speak on the opportunities and challenges surrounding the wider adoption of modular and off-site construction.

In his session, titled “Scaling Modular and Off-Site Construction,” Azzam will examine why modular construction, despite proving its technical viability, remains limited in mass deployment. The session will explore what it takes to move modular systems beyond pilot projects and commercialise them at scale.

A key focus of the discussion will be the need to shift the way modular construction is evaluated. Rather than relying solely on upfront cost comparisons, Azzam will highlight the importance of adopting a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) perspective—one that considers the broader value created through faster delivery, improved quality control, reduced on-site complexity, labour efficiency, waste reduction and long-term performance.

With an integrated 4,050 sqm manufacturing facility, Volta Pods produces fully finished turnkey modular units with complete MEP integration, fixtures, fittings and high-quality finishes. Its factory-based approach enables greater precision, consistency and quality control while supporting scalable off-site construction.

Through its participation at Construction Technology ConFex, Volta Pods will contribute to the industry dialogue on how modular construction can move beyond individual applications and become a commercially viable, scalable approach to modern project delivery.

The event will bring together more than 1,400 project owners, developers, contractors, AEC consultants, ConTech and CityTech companies from across the GCC, alongside the Property Technology ConFex and Data Centre Technology ConFex.
